About Grafton

Grafton - the city of trees - is a prosperous provincial city located 665kms north of Sydney; it is the thriving commercial hub of the Clarence Valley with a population of approximately 18,500. The city is famous for its Jacaranda trees, historic buildings and wide streets; a truly picturesque location.

One of Australia’s most majestic waterways, the Clarence River is a dominant feature in Graftons landscape and lifestyle. Visitors travel from all over the world to compete in dragon boat, sail, and power boat racing, the Head of the River rowing regatta in December and one of Australias premier water skiing events, the famous Bridge to Bridge Ski Race in October.

At Bailey & Gough First National, we feel that Grafton is the best place on the earth to live, being ideally located within 45 minutes of a number of the North Coasts premiere beaches and National Parks and is less than 3 hours drive from Coolangatta Airport. All of this is on offer in a progressive and well equipped city that has a relaxed country atmosphere.

Grafton enjoys  a sub tropical climate, with Summer temperatures being ideal for water activites and balmy evening walks, whilst Winter sees chilly nights suited relaxing by the fire place, with the days being typically fine and warm. With beef cattle, sugar cane and timber being the main industries in the local area, Grafton also accomodates a number of Government departments, such as R.T.A, Correctional Servies, Junvenille Justice and National Parks & Wildlife, just to name a few.

Grafton certainly is a place of opportunity and lifestyle; once you make a visit to Grafton youll see just why we love the place so much too!
